The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring reliability and performance of our distributed systems. You’ll drive automation initiatives, design robust test frameworks, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product management, software, DevOps, data engineering, and security teams to maintain world-class quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead test automation strategy and framework design for backend and cloud-based services.

  • Drive E2E test automation initiatives, heavily utilizing Cypress to ensure seamless user experiences.

  • Perform meticulous manual testing for complex workflows where deep attention to UX and usability details is critical.

  • Write and maintain frontend component and unit tests using Jest and React Testing Library.

  • Design and execute API-level test suites covering REST endpoints, validating request/response contracts and error handling.

  • Validate data integrity end-to-end from UI interactions through the API layer down to database state.

  • Drive continuous integration and deployment test practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps to improve test reliability and coverage.

  • Review code and promote QA best practices

  • Identify quality risks early and proactively drive solutions.

  • Ensure release compliance through test result reporting.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation.

  • Strong programming skills in Python

  • Ability to read and write code across both frontend and backend layers - enough to build tests without needing a developer to scaffold them.

  • Expertise in Cypress or similar testing frameworks and CI/CD integration.

  • Experience testing React-based frontends, including component-level and integration testing.

  • Solid understanding of AWS cloud environments.

  • Comfortable working with Unix-based systems, containers (Docker), and data workflows.

  • A sharp eye for UX/usability and a proven ability to manually navigate and validate complex user workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Jest and React Testing Library for unit and integration testing.

  • Experience with data analytics or bioinformatics pipelines.

  • Knowledge of DevOps and Python programming.

  • Experience with test data management and performance testing at scale.

  • Familiarity with containerization, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
