The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Analytics Engineer to build and maintain the critical bridges between our data storage and analytics tools. In this role, you will be instrumental in extracting raw data from our S3 Data Lake, loading it into Amazon Redshift, and transforming it into clean, high-quality, business-ready tables using SQLMesh.

This is an excellent, hands-on opportunity for someone with a deep love for SQL and Python who wants to master modern data movement and modeling. Beyond standard pipeline management, you will also collaborate with our team to develop a robust data engineering framework for data profiling, ensuring our data quality remains top-tier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Ingestion & Orchestration: Build, monitor, and maintain data pipelines moving raw data from various sources into our Amazon Redshift data warehouse. You will use Apache Airflow to schedule and orchestrate these workflows, ensuring reliable daily execution.

  • Data Transformation & Modeling: Leverage SQLMesh to write scalable SQL models that clean, aggregate, and strategically organize raw data for downstream analysis.

  • Data Validation & Quality: Run foundational SQL checks to validate data moving from S3 to Redshift. You will also contribute to building a comprehensive data profiling framework to proactively catch data anomalies.

  • Reconciliation & Analytical Problem Solving: Apply a strong analytical mindset to reconcile complex data from disparate sources (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Cloud data, etc.), ensuring high data integrity across the business.

  • Data Lineage & Insights Mapping: Connect the dots across different data domains to provide a full insight map. You will thoroughly understand and document data relationships and lineage from source to dashboard.

  • BI & Dashboarding: Develop, migrate, and maintain intuitive dashboards using BI tools, translating complex data models into actionable business insights.

  • Documentation: Actively maintain our data dictionary, ensuring that business users and technical teams alike have a clear understanding of what each table and metric in Redshift represents.

Required Skills

  • Advanced SQL Skills: You have a "data-first" mindset and are highly comfortable writing complex, performant queries (e.g., Joins, CTEs, Window Functions, Aggregations).

  • Proficient Python: You can write efficient, reliable, and reusable Python scripts to automate data workflows and support data engineering frameworks.

  • Modern Data Stack Familiarity: Experience with (or a strong desire to master) cloud data warehouses (Amazon Redshift), transformation tools (SQLMesh or dbt), and orchestration platforms (Apache Airflow).

  • BI Tool Experience: Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards. Apache Superset and Tableau are highly preferred.

  • Analytical Rigor: A proven ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies, trace data flows, and design solutions that build trust in the data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS Experience: Experience as part of a SaaS provider leveraging consumption billing is highly desired

  • Knowledge in life sciences is highly desirable.
