The Role

As a Bioinformatics Specialist, you will be the frontline of our customer service team, supporting users in their day-to-day interactions with our cloud-based clinical data platform. Your role will be crucial in troubleshooting technical issues, providing timely solutions, and ensuring our clients can effectively use the platform for storing and processing clinical and omics data. You will also be expected to take a leadership role in improving internal processes and documentation, driving efficiency and consistency in customer support procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Support: Assist users with platform navigation, troubleshooting technical issues, and answering queries related to data storage, processing, and analysis workflows (e.g., GWAS, sequencing alignment, variant calling).

  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve system errors, performance issues, and data integration problems, escalating to specialized teams when necessary.

  • User Training and Documentation: Deliver onboarding training sessions for new users and maintain up-to-date support documentation and FAQs.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, bioinformatics, and product development) to communicate user feedback and assist in platform improvements.

  • Customer Communication: Maintain regular communication with users to ensure satisfaction and offer proactive support for their clinical data analysis workflows.

  • Platform Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to oversee platform performance and anticipate potential issues.

  • Process Leadership: Lead efforts to refine and improve internal support processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company goals.

  • Compliance and Security: Ensure user data is handled securely and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotech, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • 3+ years in technical support, customer service, or relevant roles in healthcare, life sciences, or cloud-based software.

  • Familiarity with clinical or omics data analysis processes (e.g., GWAS, sequencing alignment, or variant calling).

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and technologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose technical issues.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of security and compliance in clinical data environments.

  • Leadership and organizational skills to streamline support operations and continuously improve internal procedures.
